His mother had left a will instructing that a believing slave be freed on her behalf. He said, "Messenger of Allah, my mother left instructions that a believing Raqaba be freed on her behalf, and I have a black Nubian Jariya."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Bring her here."He brought her, and the Prophet ﷺ asked her, "Who is your Lord?"She replied, "Allah."He asked, "Who am I?"She said, "You are the Messenger of Allah."He said, "Free her, for she is a believer."
حدثنا مهنأ بن عبد الحميد قال أبي كنيته أبو شبل حدثنا حماد يعني ابن سلمة عن محمد بن عمرو عن أبي سلمة
أن أمه أوصت أن يعتق عنها رقبة مؤمنة فقال يا رسول الله إن أمي أوصت أن يعتق عنها رقبة مؤمنة وعندي جارية نوبية سوداء فقال ادع بها فجاء بها فقال لها النبي ﷺ من ربك قالت الله قال من أنا قالت أنت رسول الله قال أعتقها فإنها مؤمنة
