I asked Abdullah bin Abu Awfa, "Did the Prophet ﷺ leave a will?"He replied, "No."I asked, "Then how is it that he commanded the Muslims to make a will?"He answered, "He left a bequest to follow the Book of Allah ."Malik bin Mughul reported that Talha said, and Huzayll bin Shurahbil also said, "Would Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, have presumed to act over the appointed successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, would have wished that he had found a covenant from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that he could pierce his own nose with a nose-ring and submit to it."
