The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate, saying, "O Allah, purify me with snow, hail, and cold water. O Allah, cleanse my heart of sins as a white garment is cleansed of filth, and distance me from my sins as You have distanced the East from the West. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not feel humility, from a soul that is never satisfied, from a supplication that is not heard, and from knowledge that brings no benefit. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from these four. O Allah, I ask You for a life of piety, a death of dignity, and a return that brings no disgrace."
حدثنا إسماعيل أخبرنا ليث عن مدرك
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يدعو فيقول اللهم طهرني بالثلج والبرد والماء البارد اللهم طهر قلبي من الخطايا كما طهرت الثوب الأبيض من الدنس وباعد بيني وبين ذنوبي كما باعدت بين المشرق والمغرب اللهم إني أعوذ بك من قلب لا يخشع ومن نفس لا تشبع ودعاء لا يسمع وعلم لا ينفع اللهم إني أعوذ بك من هؤلاء الأربع اللهم إني أسألك عيشة تقية وميتة سوية ومردا غير مخز
