I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with a featherless arrow.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If it strikes with its sharp edge, then eat what it kills. But if it strikes with its broadside and kills the game, then it is considered as having been beaten to death, so do not eat it."I said, "Messenger of Allah, I send out my dog to hunt."He said, "If you send out your dog and mention the name of Allah over it, and the dog catches the game for you, then eat. But if the dog has eaten from it, then do not eat, for the dog has only caught it for itself."I said, "Messenger of Allah, I send out my dog and then find another dog with it, and I do not know which of them caught the game."He said, "Do not eat, for you mentioned the name of Allah only over your own dog, not over the other one."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة حدثنا عبد الله بن أبي السفر وعن ناس ذكرهم شعبة عن الشعبي قال سمعت
سألت رسول الله ﷺ عن المعراض فقال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أصاب بحده فكل وإذا أصاب بعرضه فقتل فإنه وقيذ فلا تأكل قال قلت يا رسول الله أرسل كلبي قال إذا أرسلت كلبك وسميت فأخذ فكل فإذا أكل منه فلا تأكل فإنما أمسك على نفسه قال قلت يا رسول الله أرسل كلبي فأجد معه كلبا آخر لا أدري أيهما أخذ قال لا تأكل فإنما سميت على كلبك ولم تسم على غيره
