Hammad and Hisham reported from Muhammad, from Abu Ubayda, without mentioning the intermediary man. Hammad said, meaning, "I used to ask people about the hadith of Adi bin Hatim, mentioning the hadith, while he was right beside me and I was not asking him about it. So I came to him and asked him."He said, "Yes. When the Prophet ﷺ was sent, I detested him more intensely than I had ever detested anything."
حدثنا يونس بن محمد حدثنا حماد يعني ابن زيد عن أيوب عن محمد بن سيرين عن أبي عبيدة بن حذيفة
حماد وهشام عن محمد عن أبي عبيدة ولم يذكر عن رجل قال حماد يعني كنت أسأل الناس عن حديث عدي بن حاتم فذكر الحديث وهو إلى جنبي لا أسأل عنه فأتيته فسألته فقال نعم بعث النبي ﷺ حين بعث فكرهته أشد ما كرهت شيئا قط
