I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about game caught by a hunting dog. He said, "If you send your trained dog and mention the name of Allah over it, and it catches the prey while you can still slaughter it, then slaughter it. If it kills the prey, eat from it. But if the dog has eaten from it, do not eat."

سألت رسول الله ﷺ عن صيد الكلب فقال إذا أرسلت كلبك المعلم فسميت عليه فأخذ فأدركت ذكاته فذكه وإن قتل فكل فإن أكل منه فلا تأكل
