A man came to him asking about something, but he considered it too little to give and swore an oath. Then he said, "Were it not that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever takes an oath and then sees something better than it, let him do what is better and expiate for his oath.'"Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "I never heard this hadith from anyone except from Ubayy."
