The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and urged us to give charity, but the people were slow to respond, until anger could be seen on his face. Mura said, "until it became visible." Then a man from the Ansar came with a bundle and gave it to him, and the rest of the people followed, giving until joy could be seen on his face.He said, "Whoever sets a good precedent will have its reward and the like of the reward of those who act upon it, without anything being diminished from their rewards. And whoever sets a bad precedent will bear its burden and the like of the burden of those who act upon it, without anything being diminished from their burdens."Mura, meaning Abu Muawiya, said, "without being diminished."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن مسلم يعني ابن صبيح عن عبد الرحمن بن هلال العبسي
خطبنا رسول الله ﷺ فحثنا على الصدقة فأبطأ الناس حتى رئي في وجهه الغضب وقال مرة حتى بان ثم إن رجلا من الأنصار جاء بصرة فأعطاها إياه ثم تتابع الناس فأعطوا حتى رئي في وجهه السرور فقال من سن سنة حسنة كان له أجرها ومثل أجر من عمل بها من غير أن ينتقص من أجورهم شيء ومن سن سنة سيئة كان عليه وزرها ومثل وزر من عمل بها من غير أن ينتقص من أوزارهم شيء قال مرة يعني أبا معاوية من غير أن ينقص
