Ammar bin Yasir reported,

He used to relate that the concession which Allah revealed concerning clean earth, then he mentioned the hadith, except that he said that they struck their palms on the earth and wiped their faces once, then they struck again and wiped their arms up to the shoulders and armpits.

حدثنا عثمان بن عمر قال ثنا يونس عن الزهري عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة أن

كان يحدث أن الرخصة التي أنزل الله عز وجل في الصعيد فذكر الحديث إلا أنه قال إنهم ضربوا أكفهم في الصعيد فمسحوا به وجوههم مسحة واحدة ثم عادوا فضربوا فمسحوا أيديهم إلى المناكب والآباط
