A group from Banu Sulaym fled from their land when Islam came, so I took possession of it. They later embraced Islam and disputed with me over it before the Prophet ﷺ, who returned the land to them and said, "When a man becomes Muslim, he has the greater right to his land and his property."

Its chain is daif, due to the unknown identity of the paternal uncles of Aban. Ibn Hajar graded the hadith hasan in Talkhis al-Habir 4/120, no. 1908, and it is found with similar wording in Abu Dawud 3/175, no. 3067, in the book of taxation, chapter on the allotment of lands.
