Subayah bint Harith gave birth twenty-three or twenty-five nights after her husband's death. When she had recovered, she made herself available for marriage. This was disapproved of, and the matter was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ. He said, "If she does so, her waiting period has indeed ended."Affan said, "Her waiting period has passed."

وضعت سبيعة بنت الحارث بعد وفاة زوجها بثلاث وعشرين أو خمس وعشرين ليلة فلما تعلت تشوفت للنكاح فأنكر ذلك عليها وذكر ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال إن تفعل فقد حل أجلها قال عفان فقد خلى أجلها
