I saw the Prophet ﷺ carrying dirt during the digging of the trench until the dust covered the skin of his belly, and he was reciting the words of Abdullah bin Rawaha,"O Allah, were it not for You, we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed. So send down tranquility upon us, and make our feet firm if we meet the enemy. Indeed, those people have transgressed against us, and if they intend trial, we refuse."

رأيت النبي ﷺ ينقل من تراب الخندق حتى وارى التراب جلد بطنه وهو يرتجز بكلمة عبد الله بن رواحة اللهم لولا أنت ما اهتدينا ولا تصدقنا ولا صلينا فأنزلن سكينة علينا وثبت الأقدام إن لاقينا إن الألى قد بغوا علينا وإن أرادوا فتنة أبينا
