The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever fashions an image will be tormented on the Day of Resurrection until he breathes life into it, and he will never be able to do so. Whoever falsely claims to have seen a dream will be tormented on the Day of Resurrection until he ties two barley grains together, and he will never be able to do so. Whoever eavesdrops on a people's conversation while they are trying to keep it from him will have molten torment poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection."
حدثنا عباد بن عباد عن أيوب عن عكرمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ من صور صورة عذب يوم القيامة حتى ينفخ فيها وليس بنافخ ومن تحلم عذب يوم القيامة حتى يعقد شعيرتين وليس عاقدا ومن استمع إلى حديث قوم يفرون به منه صب في أذنيه يوم القيامة عذاب
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it, 12:374–376, through the route of Ibn Uyayna from Ayub. Tirmidhi related the part about false claims of dreams, 3:250, through the route of Abdul-Wahhab from Ayub, and related the rest of it, 3:54, through the route of Hammad bin Zayd from Ayub, and graded it sahih through both routes. Bukhari, 10:330, and Muslim, 2:163, related the warning against image-making through the route of Nadr bin Anas bin Malik from Ibn Abbas.
