While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he caught sight of a group of people and asked, "What has gathered these people together?"It was said, "They are digging a grave."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became alarmed and rushed ahead of his companions until he reached the grave, where he knelt down beside it. I positioned myself in front of him to see what he would do. He wept until his tears moistened the soil. Then he turned to us and said, "My brothers, prepare yourselves for a day like this."
حدثنا أبو عبد الرحمن المقرئ وحسين بن محمد المعنى قالا حدثنا أبو رجاء عبد الله بن واقد الهروي قال حدثنا محمد بن مالك
بينما نحن مع رسول الله ﷺ إذ بصر بجماعة فقال علام اجتمع عليه هؤلاء قيل على قبر يحفرونه قال ففزع رسول الله ﷺ فبدر بين يدي أصحابه مسرعا حتى انتهى إلى القبر فجثا عليه قال فاستقبلته من بين يديه لأنظر ما يصنع فبكى حتى بل الثرى من دموعه ثم أقبل علينا قال أي إخواني لمثل اليوم فأعدوا
