We were traveling with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when we came upon a well that was nearly dry, meaning it had very little water. Six of us went down into it, and I was the sixth, to scoop out the water. A bucket was lowered to us, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at the edge of the well. We filled it halfway, or close to two-thirds, and it was raised up to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Bara said, "I tipped my vessel hoping to find something to put down my throat, but I found nothing." The bucket was raised to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who dipped his hand into it and said what Allah willed him to say. Then the bucket was sent back down to us with its contents, and I saw one of us climb out clinging to a garment for fear of drowning. Then the water gushed forth and flowed like a river.

كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في مسير فأتينا على ركي ذمة يعني قليلة الماء قال فنزل فيها ستة أنا سادسهم ماحة فأدليت إلينا دلو قال ورسول الله ﷺ على شفة الركي فجعلنا فيها نصفها أو قراب ثلثيها فرفعت إلى رسول الله ﷺ قال البراء فكدت بإنائي هل أجد شيئا أجعله في حلقي فما وجدت فرفعت الدلو إلى رسول الله ﷺ فغمس يده فيها فقال ما شاء الله أن يقول فعيدت إلينا الدلو بما فيها قال فلقد رأيت أحدنا أخرج بثوب خشية الغرق قال ثم ساحت يعني جرت نهرا
