I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the Trench carrying earth, and the dust had covered the whiteness of his stomach, and he was saying, "O Allah, had it not been for You, we would not have been guided, nor would we have given charity, nor prayed. So send down tranquility upon us, for these people have transgressed against us." Sometimes he said, "The chiefs have transgressed against us. When they intend trial, we refuse." And he would raise his voice with it.
