We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Hudaybiyah, fourteen hundred in number. Hudaybiyah was a well, and we drew from it until we left nothing in it. This was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, so he came and sat on its edge. He called for a vessel, rinsed his mouth, then spat the water back into it. We left it for a short while, and afterward it gave us and our mounts as much water as we wished to drink.

كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ أربع عشرة مائة بالحديبية والحديبية بئر فنزحناها فلم نترك فيها شيئا فذكر ذلك للنبي ﷺ فجاء فجلس على شفيرها فدعا بإناء فمضمض ثم مجه فيه ثم تركناها غير بعيد فأصدرتنا نحن وركابنا نشرب منها ما شئنا
