He was the governor of Oman, and he was among the best of governors.He said, my father said, "Gather around, so I may show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution and how he used to pray, for I do not know how much longer I will be with you."So he gathered his sons and his family and called for water for ablution. He rinsed his mouth and nose, washed his face three times, washed his right hand three times, and washed this hand three times, meaning the left. Then he wiped his head and his ears, both the outer and inner parts, and washed this foot three times, meaning the right, and washed this foot three times, meaning the left.He said, "This is how it was. I have spared no effort to show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution."Then he entered his house and prayed a prayer that we did not recognize. Then he came out and ordered the prayer, so the iqamah was called, and he led us in the Dhuhr prayer. I believe I heard him recite verses from Surah Ya-Sin. Then he prayed Asr, then he led us in Maghrib, then he led us in Isha.He said, "I have spared no effort to show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution and how he used to pray."
حدثنا إسماعيل حدثنا سعيد الجريري عن أبي عائذ سيف السعدي وأثنى عليه خيرا
وكان أميرا بعمان وكان كخير الأمراء قال قال أبي اجتمعوا فلأريكم كيف كان رسول الله ﷺ يتوضأ وكيف كان يصلي فإني لا أدري ما قدر صحبتي إياكم قال فجمع بنيه وأهله ودعا بوضوء فمضمض واستنشق وغسل وجهه ثلاثا وغسل اليد اليمنى ثلاثا وغسل يده هذه ثلاثا يعني اليسرى ثم مسح رأسه وأذنيه ظاهرهما وباطنهما وغسل هذه الرجل يعني اليمنى ثلاثا وغسل هذه الرجل ثلاثا يعني اليسرى قال هكذا ما ألوت أن أريكم كيف كان رسول الله ﷺ يتوضأ ثم دخل بيته فصلى صلاة لا ندري ما هي ثم خرج فأمر بالصلاة فأقيمت فصلى بنا الظهر فأحسب أني سمعت منه آيات من يس ثم صلى العصر ثم صلى بنا المغرب ثم صلى بنا العشاء وقال ما ألوت أن أريكم كيف رسول الله ﷺ يتوضأ وكيف كان يصلي
