Regarding this verse, "Not equal are those believers who sit at home and those who strive in the cause of Allah" [Nisa 4:95], Mujahid said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered Zayd, who brought a shoulder-blade bone and wrote it down.Then Ibn Umm Maktum complained to him about his blindness, so the verse was revealed, "Not equal are those believers who sit at home, other than those who have a disability" [Nisa 4:95].
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحاق أنه سمع
في هذه الآية لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين والمجاهدون في سبيل الله قال فأمر رسول الله ﷺ زيدا فجاء بكتف فكتبها قال فشكا إليه ابن أم مكتوم ضرارته فنزلت {لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين غير أولي الضرر}
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related the hadith 4/30 in jihad, on the words of Allah Most High, "Those who sit back are not equal" [Nisa 4:95]. Muslim related it 3/1508, no. 1898, and Abu Dawud, 3/11, no. 2507.
