The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people and said, "If a person in the state of ihram cannot find a waist-wrap, let him wear trousers, and if he cannot find sandals, let him wear leather socks."
حدثنا هشيم أنبأنا عمرو بن دينار عن جابر بن زيد
خطب رسول الله ﷺ وقال إذا لم يجد المحرم إزارا فليلبس السراويل وإذا لم يجد النعلين فليلبس الخفين
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Jabir bin Zayd is Abu Shatha, a trustworthy tabii and one of the jurists of the people of Basra, as attested by Ibn Umar, and he was among the most knowledgeable people regarding the Book of Allah. Bukhari and Muslim also narrated this hadith, as noted in al-Muntaqa 2439. It will also come again at 2015 and 2526.
