A man named Abdul-Rahman bin Hunayn, who was nicknamed Qurqur, had relations with his wife's slave-girl. He was brought before Numan bin Bashir al-Ansari, who said, "I will rule in your case with the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. If she had made the slave-girl lawful for you, I will lash you one hundred times, and if she had not made her lawful for you, I will stone you to death."She had indeed made her lawful for him, so he lashed him one hundred times.He said, I heard our father say, and Qatada informed us, that he wrote about this matter to Habib bin Salim, and Habib wrote back to him with this ruling.
