The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For every offense there is a possibility of error except the sword, and for every error there is compensation."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن جابر عن أبي عازب
قال رسول الله ﷺ لكل شيء خطأ إلا السيف ولكل خطإ أرش
Its chain of transmission is daif, because of Jabir bin Yazid Jafi, and also because of Abu Azib, who is passed over in silence. They differed regarding his name, whether it was Muslim bin Amr or Muslim bin Arak. The hadith was reported by Daraqutni, 3/107, number 88, in the chapter on legal punishments, and something similar to it was reported by Ibn Majah, 2/889, number 2667, in the chapter on blood money. Busiri went to excess in accusing Jabir Jafi of lying, and Haythami declared it daif, 6/291.
