Numan bin Bashir reported,

My father Bashir gave me a gift. My mother said, "Have the Messenger of Allah ﷺ witness it."So he took my hand and we set out together until we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "Messenger of Allah, the mother of this boy asked me to give him a gift, so I gave it to him. Then she said, 'Have the Messenger of Allah ﷺ witness it,' so I have come to you for you to witness it."He said, "Wait. Do you have any other children besides him?"He replied, "Yes."He asked, "Have you given each of them the same as you have given him?"He answered, "No."He said, "Then do not call me to witness, for I will not witness an injustice. Your children have a right over you that you treat them equally."

النعمان بن بشير يقول

إن أبي بشيرا وهب لي هبة فقالت أمي أشهد عليها رسول الله ﷺ فأخذ بيدي فانطلق بي حتى أتينا رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إن أم هذا الغلام سألتني أن أهب له هبة فوهبتها له فقالت أشهد عليها رسول الله ﷺ فأتيتك لأشهدك فقال رويدك ألك ولد غيره قال نعم قال كلهم أعطيته كما أعطيته قال لا قال فلا تشهدني إذا إني لا أشهد على جور إن لبنيك عليك من الحق أن تعدل بينهم
