I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, while pointing with his two fingers to his ears, "The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between the two are doubtful matters that many people do not know whether they belong to the lawful or the unlawful. Whoever leaves them safeguards his religion and his honor, and whoever falls into them is on the verge of falling into the unlawful, just as a shepherd who grazes his flock near a protected sanctuary is likely to let them graze within it. Every king has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah is what He has forbidden."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن مجالد حدثنا عامر قال سمعت
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ وأومأ بإصبعيه إلى أذنيه إن الحلال بين والحرام بين وإن بين الحلال والحرام مشتبهات لا يدري كثير من الناس أمن الحلال هي أم من الحرام فمن تركها استبرأ لدينه وعرضه ومن واقعها يوشك أن يواقع الحرام فمن رعى إلى جنب حمى يوشك أن يرتع فيه ولكل ملك حمى وإن حمى الله محارمه
