The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever finds a lost item should call two trustworthy witnesses, or one trustworthy witness," Khalid being the one uncertain about the wording, "and let him neither conceal it nor hide it away. If its owner comes, he has the greater right to it. Otherwise, it is wealth from Allah, which He grants to whomever He wills."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت خالدا يحدث عن يزيد بن عبد الله بن الشخير عن مطرف بن الشخير
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال من التقط لقطة فليشهد ذوي عدل أو ذا عدل خالد الشاك ولا يكتم ولا يغيب فإن جاء صاحبها فهو أحق بها وإلا فهو مال الله يؤتيه من يشاء
