Iyad bin Himar reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever finds a lost item should call upon a trustworthy witness or two trustworthy witnesses, and should neither conceal it nor hide it. If its owner comes forward, he has the greater right to it. Otherwise, it is simply the wealth of Allah, which He gives to whomever He wills."

عن عياض بن حمار قال

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من التقط لقطة فليشهد ذا عدل أو ذوي عدل ثم لا يكتم ولا يغيب فإن جاء ربها فهو أحق بها وإلا فإنما هو مال الله يؤتيه من يشاء
