Ammar bin Yasir entered the mosque and prayed two units of prayer, making them brief yet complete. Then he sat down, and we got up and joined him, sitting beside him. We said to him, "You really shortened those two units of prayer, Abu Yaqzan."He replied, "I hurried through them to keep Satan from interfering with me during them."He then mentioned the rest of the hadith.

Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Las Khuzai was mentioned recently, and this hadith is like the one before it. This is a purely salafi matter in which we must follow our righteous predecessors, who used to shorten the prayer for the people, racing with it ahead of Satan, because lengthening it brings whispered doubts and temptation. But those who falsely claim to follow the salafi way do not understand this.They insist on lengthening the prayer out of ignorance, denial, and stubbornness, not out of knowledge or genuine following.
