I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with a featherless arrow. He said, "Whatever you strike with its sharp edge, eat it, but whatever you strike with its broad side is considered as something killed by a blow, so do not eat it."I also asked him about hunting with a dog. Waki said, "When you release your dog and mention the name of Allah, then eat what it catches for you."He said, "Eat whatever it catches for you so long as it has not eaten from it, for its catching it is its slaughter. But if you find another dog with your dog and you fear that the other dog may have caught it along with yours and killed it, then do not eat, for you mentioned the name of Allah only over your own dog, not over the other one."
