Mughira bin Shuba reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate some food, then the call to prayer was made. He stood up, having already performed ablution earlier. I brought him water so he could perform ablution again, but he rebuked me and said, "Get back!" By Allah, that upset me. Then he prayed.I complained about this to Umar, who said, "Prophet of Allah, Mughira was distressed by your rebuke and fears that you hold something against him."The Prophet ﷺ said, "I hold nothing against him but good. He brought me water to perform ablution, but I had only eaten food. Had I done so, people would do the same after me."

عن المغيرة بن شعبة

أن رسول الله ﷺ أكل طعاما ثم أقيمت الصلاة فقام وقد كان توضأ قبل ذلك فأتيته بماء ليتوضأ منه فانتهرني وقال وراءك فساءني والله ذلك ثم صلى فشكوت ذلك إلى عمر فقال يا نبي الله إن المغيرة قد شق عليه انتهارك إياه وخشي أن يكون في نفسك عليه شيء فقال النبي ﷺ ليس عليه في نفسي شيء إلا خير ولكن أتاني بماء لأتوضأ وإنما أكلت طعاما ولو فعلته فعل ذلك الناس بعدي
