I witnessed Mughira bin Shuba go out one day, ascend the pulpit, praise Allah and extol Him, and then say, "What is this wailing for the dead in Islam?"A man from the Ansar had died and was being mourned with loud wailing.He continued, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Lying about me is not like lying about anyone else. Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire.' And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever is wailed over will be punished because of the wailing done over him.'"
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن سعيد بن عبيد قال سمعت
شهدت المغيرة بن شعبة خرج يوما فرقي على المنبر فحمد الله وأثنى عليه ثم قال ما بال هذا النوح في الإسلام وكان مات رجل من الأنصار فنيح عليه قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن كذبا علي ليس ككذب على أحد فمن كذب علي متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إنه من نيح عليه يعذب بما نيح عليه
