Mughira bin Shuba reported,

I set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys. We traveled until, in the last part of the night, he went off until he was out of sight to relieve himself. Then he came back and called for water for purification. He was wearing a Syrian cloak with narrow sleeves, so he slipped his hand out from underneath the cloak, then washed his face and his hands, wiped his head, and wiped over his leather socks.
