The Prophet ﷺ continued reciting the talbiyah until he stoned Jamrat al-Uqba, throwing seven pebbles at it and saying takbir with each pebble.
حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد قال عبد الله وسمعته أنا من عبد الله بن محمد حدثنا حفص عن جعفر عن أبيه عن علي بن حسين عن ابن عباس
أن النبي ﷺ لم يزل يلبي حتى رمى جمرة العقبة فرماها بسبع حصيات يكبر مع كل حصاة
Its isnad is sahih. Abdullah bin Muhammad is Ibn Abu Shayba. Hafs is Ibn Ghiyath. Jafar is al-Sadiq, Jafar bin Muhammad bin Ali bin Husayn, and he is trustworthy and reliable, one of the leading figures of the Prophet's household in jurisprudence, knowledge, and merit. Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir, 1/1/2/198. His father is Muhammad bin Ali al-Baqir. Ali bin Husayn is Zayn al-Abidin. The hadith is an extended version of what preceded it. Ibn Kathir, in al-Tarikh, 5:185, transmitted from Bayhaqi, by way of the imam of imams Ibn Khuzayma, something similar, which he narrated from Umar bin Hafs Shaybani, from Hafs bin Ghiyath.
