Zirr bin Hubaysh reported,

I came as a delegate during the caliphate of Uthman bin Affan. What drove me to make this journey was the desire to meet Ubayy bin Kaab and the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I met Safwan bin Assal and asked him, "Have you seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "Yes, and I fought alongside him in twelve military expeditions."

وفدت في خلافة عثمان بن عفان وإنما حملني على الوفادة لقي أبي بن كعب وأصحاب رسول الله ﷺ فلقيت صفوان بن عسال فقلت له هل رأيت رسول الله ﷺ قال نعم وغزوت معه اثنتي عشرة غزوة
