We were encamped with Muawiya after the killing of Uthman , when Kaab bin Mura Bahzi stood up and said, "Were it not for something I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would not have risen to this position."When the people heard him mention the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, they made him sit down. Then he said, "While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, passed by, his hair combed and groomed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A trial shall come forth from beneath the feet of this man,' or 'from between the legs of this man. He, on that day, and those who follow him, will be upon guidance.'"Then Ibn Hawala Azdi rose from beside the pulpit and said, "Are you truly the one who heard this?"Kaab replied, "Yes."Ibn Hawala said, "By Allah, I too was present at that gathering, and had I known that there was anyone in the army who would confirm my account, I would have been the first to speak of it."
