One of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The shade of the believer on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب
حدثني بعض أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن ظل المؤمن يوم القيامة صدقته
Its chain of transmission is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy and well known. The hadith was narrated by Abu Yaala 3/300, no. 1766, and Ibn Khuzayma 4/94, no. 2431, in the chapter on zakat, regarding charity shading its giver on the Day of Judgment. Also by Ibn Hibban, 209, no. 817, in Mawarid, and Shihab Qudai, 1/94, no. 103. And Hakim, 1/416, with Dhahabi concurring with him, and Bayhaqi, 4/177.
