Wabisa bin Mabad reported,

I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to ask him about righteousness and sin. He said, "You have come to ask about righteousness and sin?"I replied, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I have come to ask you about nothing else."He said, "Righteousness is what brings tranquility to your heart, and sin is what wavers in your heart, even if people give you their verdicts in its favor."

حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن معاوية بن صالح عن أبي عبد الرحمن السلمي قال سمعت

وابصة بن معبد صاحب النبي ﷺ قال

جئت إلى رسول الله ﷺ أسأله عن البر والإثم فقال جئت تسأل عن البر والإثم فقلت والذي بعثك بالحق ما جئتك أسألك عن غيره فقال البر ما انشرح له صدرك والإثم ما حاك في صدرك وإن أفتاك عنه الناس
