One of his family members reported that his maternal grandfather, Abdullah bin Abu Habiba, was asked, "What did you witness of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "He came to us in this mosque of ours. I came and sat beside him. A drink was brought to him, and he drank from it, then he passed it to me, as I was on his right side. I also saw him that day pray in his sandals, and I was a young boy at the time."
حدثنا عبد الملك بن عمرو حدثنا مجمع بن يعقوب من أهل قباء قال حدثني
أن بعض أهله قال لجده من قبل أمه وهو عبد الله بن أبي حبيبة ما أدركت من رسول الله ﷺ قال أتانا في مسجدنا هذا فجئت فجلست إلى جنبه فأتي بشراب فشرب ثم ناولني وأنا عن يمينه قال ورأيته يومئذ صلى في نعليه وأنا يومئذ غلام
