The delegation of Thakeef came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he had them lodged in the mosque so that their hearts might soften. They stipulated to the Prophet ﷺ that they would not be mustered for military service, nor have tithes taken from them, nor be required to bow in prayer, and that no one other than themselves would be appointed over them. The Prophet ﷺ said, "You shall not be mustered, nor tithed, and no one other than yourselves shall be appointed over you."The Prophet ﷺ also said, "There is no good in a religion that has no bowing in it."Uthman bin Abu As said, "Messenger of Allah, teach me the Quran and make me the prayer leader of my people."
