I visited Uthman bin Abu As, and he ordered that I be served milk from a fresh milking-camel. I said, "I am fasting."He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Fasting is a shield against Allah's punishment, just as the shield of one of you in battle. The best fasting is three days of every month.'"
