During his final illness, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." So Abu Bakr went out and began the prayer with the opening takbir.Then the Prophet ﷺ felt some relief, so he came out supported between two men. When Abu Bakr saw him, he started to step back, but the Prophet ﷺ gestured to him to stay in his place. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sat down beside Abu Bakr and continued reciting from the point in the surah that Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, had reached.
حدثنا يحيى بن آدم حدثنا قيس حدثنا عبد الله بن أبي السفر عن أرقم بن شرحبيل عن ابن عباس
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال في مرضه مروا أبا بكر يصلي بالناس فخرج أبو بكر فكبر ووجد النبي ﷺ راحة فخرج يهادى بين رجلين فلما رآه أبو بكر تأخر فأشار إليه النبي ﷺ مكانك ثم جلس رسول الله ﷺ إلى جنب أبي بكر فاقترأ من المكان الذي بلغ أبو بكر رضي الله تعالى عنه من السورة
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of the previous one, with some addition and abridgment. "Being supported walking between two men" means he walked between them leaning on them because of his weakness and heaviness, from the expression hadat al-mar'atu fi mashyatiha, said of a woman when she sways in her walk. Anyone who does this while supporting another is described as yuhadihi, according to Nihayah.
