Umar addressed the people at al-Jabiyah and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in a place like this one where I now stand and said, 'Treat my companions well, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. After that, a people will come, one of whom will swear an oath before being asked to swear it, and bear witness before being called to bear witness. Whoever among you wishes to attain the heart of Paradise, let him hold fast to the community, for Satan accompanies the lone individual, and he is farther from two than from one. No man should be alone with a woman, for the third among them is Satan. Whoever among you is pleased by his good deeds and troubled by his bad deeds is a believer.'"
حدثنا جرير عن عبد الملك بن عمير
خطب عمر الناس بالجابية فقال إن رسول الله ﷺ قام في مثل مقامي هذا فقال أحسنوا إلى أصحابي ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم ثم يجيء قوم يحلف أحدهم على اليمين قبل أن يستحلف عليها ويشهد على الشهادة قبل أن يستشهد فمن أحب منكم أن ينال بحبوحة الجنة فليلزم الجماعة فإن الشيطان مع الواحد وهو من الاثنين أبعد ولا يخلون رجل بامرأة فإن ثالثهما الشيطان ومن كان منكم تسره حسنته وتسوءه سيئته فهو مؤمن
