We were young boys sitting with Abdullah bin Busr, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, and we did not know how to question him properly.I asked, "Was the Prophet ﷺ an old man?"He replied, "There were a few white hairs in the tuft of his lower lip."

كنا غلمانا جلوسا عند عبد الله بن بسر وكان من أصحاب النبي ﷺ ولم نكن نحسن نسأله فقلت أشيخا كان النبي ﷺ قال كان في عنفقته شعرات بيض
Its isnad is sahih. Hurayz bin Uthman Shami, Abu Awn Himsi, is trustworthy, firmly reliable, virtuous, and well known. The hadith was narrated by Ibn Abu Shayba 8/258, no. 6116, in the chapter on aqiqah, on who used to dye his beard, and by Ibn Saad 1/2/137, in the mention of the gray hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
