I was with Busr bin Artah when a man was brought before him who had stolen a Bukhti camel. Busr said, "Were it not that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid us from carrying out the amputation penalty during a military expedition, I would have cut off your hand." He had him flogged and then released him.
