Abdul-Rahman bin Malik reported,

He informed him that Suraqa bin Jasham came to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the illness in which he passed away. He said, "I began asking the Messenger of Allah ﷺ questions until I no longer recall what I asked him about."He was told, "Mention what you do recall."He said, "Among the things I asked him was, I said, 'Messenger of Allah, stray animals come to my watering troughs, which I have filled with water for my own camels. Will I be rewarded for giving them to drink?'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'Yes. There is a reward from Allah for giving drink to every thirsty creature.'"

عبد الرحمن بن مالك أخبره أن أباه

أخبره أن سراقة بن جعشم دخل على رسول الله ﷺ في وجعه الذي توفي فيه قال فطفقت أسأل رسول الله ﷺ حتى ما أذكر ما أسأله عنه فقال اذكره قال وكان مما سألته عنه أن قلت يا رسول الله الضالة تغشى حياضي وقد ملأتها ماء لإبلي فهل لي من أجر أن أسقيها فقال رسول الله ﷺ نعم في سقي كل كبد حراء أجر لله عز وجل
