We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when we were four hundred and forty in number. He then mentioned the rest of the hadith.
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا إسماعيل عن قيس
أتينا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن أربعون وأربع مائة فذكر الحديث
Its chain of transmission is sahih.
