I said to Uqba bin Amir, "We have neighbors who drink wine."He replied, "Conceal it for them."I said, "I will not conceal it for them. I want to go and bring the police against them."Uqba said to him, "Woe to you, hold back from them. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever sees a fault and conceals it is like one who has saved a buried infant girl from her grave.'"
حدثنا علي بن إسحاق أخبرنا ابن لهيعة عن كعب بن علقمة حدثني
قلت لعقبة بن عامر إن لنا جيرانا يشربون الخمر قال استر عليهم قال ما أستر عليهم أريد أن أذهب أجيء بالشرط عليهم قال فقال له عقبة ويحك مهلا عليهم سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من رأى عورة فسترها كان كمن استحيا موءودة من قبرها
