I saw Abu Tamim Jayshani, Abdullah bin Malik, praying two rakahs when he heard the call to prayer for Maghrib. So I went to Uqba bin Amir al-Juhani and said to him, "Aren't you surprised at Abu Tamim Jayshani praying two rakahs before the Maghrib prayer?" I intended by this to belittle him.Uqba replied, "We used to do this during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."I asked, "What prevents you from doing it now?"He answered, "Being preoccupied with other matters."

رأيت أبا تميم الجيشاني عبد الله بن مالك يركع ركعتين حين يسمع أذان المغرب قال فأتيت عقبة بن عامر الجهني فقلت له ألا أعجبك من أبي تميم الجيشاني يركع ركعتين قبل صلاة المغرب وأنا أريد أن أغمصه قال عقبة أما إنا كنا نفعله على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فقلت ما يمنعك الآن قال الشغل
