Abu Ayub traveled to meet Uqba bin Amir. He came to Maslama bin Muqlid, who came out to him.Abu Ayub said, "Show me the way to him," so he came to Uqba and said, "Tell me what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, for no one else who heard it remains."Uqba replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever conceals the faults of a believer in this world, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection.'"Then Abu Ayub went to his mount, rode off, and returned home.
حدثنا سفيان عن ابن جريج قال سمعت أبا سعد الأعمى يحدث
رحل أبو أيوب إلى عقبة بن عامر فأتى مسلمة بن مخلد فخرج إليه قال دلوني فأتى عقبة فقال حدثنا ما سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ لم يبق أحد سمعه قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من ستر على مؤمن في الدنيا ستره الله يوم القيامة فأتى راحلته فركب ورجع
