The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Recite the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah, for I was given them from beneath the Throne."
حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم الرازي حدثنا سلمة بن الفضل قال حدثني محمد بن إسحاق عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن مرثد بن عبد الله اليزني
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ اقرأ الآيتين من آخر سورة البقرة فإني أعطيتهما من تحت العرش
Its chain of transmission is hasan, because of Ibn Ishaq and Salama bin Fadl Abrash, for they have spoken about his memory. Haythami mentioned a disagreement about him in 6/2/3. The hadith is found in the Sahihs and is well known, the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) mentioned it in discussing the merit of Surah Baqarah.
