A companion of the Prophet ﷺ reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever leaves behind dependents in need, they are my responsibility." Sometimes he said, "They are the responsibility of Allah and His Messenger. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his heirs. I am the heir of one who has no heir, paying his blood-money and inheriting from him. The maternal uncle is the heir of one who has no heir, paying his blood-money and inheriting from him."

من أصحاب النبي ﷺ عن النبي ﷺ قال من ترك كلا فإلي قال وربما قال إلى الله وإلى رسوله ومن ترك مالا فلورثته وأنا وارث من لا وارث له أعقل عنه وأرثه والخال وارث من لا وارث له يعقل عنه ويرثه
